Usha Helix Pro High Speed pedestal fan

(best stand fan in India)

best stand fan in India

Why Should You Buy this?

Personally I like these pedestal fan that I bought two of them.

The air flow and the force of the wind that comes from this USHA helix pro pedestal fan makes it the best pedestal fan in India.

This is also one of the best high speed pedestal fan in India as well.

If you are looking to get really high air flow then get this one.

I have two of these and summer can not touch me anymore.

I would like it more, if it had metal blades and a more stable base though.

Top Features:

  • 400mm sweep area
  • 2300 RPM
  • 100% copper motor
  • Overhead Protection
  • Aerodynamically designed ABS blades
  • Modern body with black option available
  • 120 watts power consumption

Pros:

  • If you really want a high speed stand fan that can blow you away, then this is for you.
  • It has really strong air flow which can be felt across a 15 feet room.
  • RPM is really high and that makes some sound and lots of air. And it kills a lot of mosquitos also.
  • Setting up the pedestal fan is easy.
  • 100% copper coil ensures long life and I have been using them for a long time.

Cons:

  • Could have provided a remote option.
  • Base could have been a little more sturdier since the motor is really high speed. But the base does not shake.
  • Plastic screws.
  • There is a light humm noise from the fan blades.
  • Consumes 120 watts of power to produce a storm in the room.

How to choose a good pedestal fan in India

Price: For a pedestal fan in India I would not spend too much. After all it can keep the summer heat away but not stop it. It is not an air conditioner.

Air Flow: Higher the air flow, better it will be able to cool you down. It is generally measured in CMM per hour. Note that higher Air flow usually means bigger pedestal fans and higher power consumption:

Power Consumption: High speed stand fans will always consume more power than other stand fans. If you want to get high air delivery then you will pay more electric bills. On the other hand the BLDC motor fans will consume only 35 watts but will provide low air delivery when compared.

Features: Remote control, unique design, 2 in 1 feature and bldc motor can be counted as additional features. If I do not need high speed then I would go for BLDC motor and remote control.

Design: Larger the pedestal fan head, more it is suitable for larger rooms. And some pedestal fans are really antique looking also. Usually all pedestal fans are of 400mm sweep area.

Also many stand fans are available in brighter, unique color combinations.

Motor Quality: Always go for copper winding motor, these will last for a long time and are reliable. And higher the RPM that the motor can generate, higher power consumption will be there.

Safety Features: You should look for thermal overload protection and a durable body. And should check for a heavy metal base. These will keep the pedestal fan and your home protected.

FAQ

Can a pedestal fan catch fire?

If really overheated or if the pedestal fan faces a short circuit there could be some smoke. But fire is very unlikely to happen.

How much electricity does a pedestal fan use?

A high speed pedestal fan will consume around 120 watts and BLDC motor stand fan consumes around 55 watts.

But understand that more power consumption is related to speed of the motor and higher air delivery.

Do pedestal fans use a lot of electricity?

If you are buying a farrata fan or a high speed stand fan then it will. Those type of pedestal fans will consume around 120 watts to 160 watts per hour.

How to clean pedestal fan?

Cleaning a pedestal fan have become much harder and delicate with the plastic joint around the blade cover. You have to be very careful, as replacement of those will be hard to find.

Otherwise once you are done with removing the blade cover, you can use a mop/old cloth and some soap water to clean the blades.

Be careful of not spilling the water into the fan motor.
